Volunteer to Make a Difference in Kenya

21/02/2013 by Ann Oslo

Kenyan Field Farmers by Neil Palmer (creative commons)Have you ever wanted to travel abroad and accomplish something you are sure to never forget? Your chance is here! Discover a new culture and explore the beautiful beaches and wildlife in Kenya. When traveling abroad it is easy to get jammed up in a mess of unnecessary stressed if you do not plan ahead. Don’t let this be you! Book your Gatwick car parking or East Midlands Airport parking in advance and save time and money on those expensive taxi fees!

This is an opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of children to help them grow up into a prosperous future. You may just have the necessary skills to change a life! Provide education, medical care, and counseling within the schools and orphanages in Kenya where it is truly needed. Through Global Volunteer Network, you can do just that! This progressive non-profit company has helped raise 1.8 million for women and children in need. You chose your stay and where you would like to make a long term impact on a community. Global Volunteer Network is in need of warm and friendly people who can help give these children the love and attention that all people deserve. Help by through education and teach the necessary skills to help these children succeed. Free the youth of the world from poverty and open more doors of opportunity.

Global Volunteer Network offers a Big Brother, Big Sister program to work directly with children inside the home. You can also work in the classroom, assist with homework and help organize fun activities from crafts and dance to music and games. It is common for schools in Kenya to be overcrowded and this lack of skilled teachers leaves many children left out. The mission is to reduce poverty to promote gender equality and empower boys and girls through education. You can make all the difference in the next generation of youths by sharing your knowledge at the preschool, primary and secondary school levels. Teach core subjects such as English, science, math and social studies, and feel the rewarding benefits of global outreach.

The most prominent issues in modern-day Kenya are more troublesome than most parts of the western world. With lack of medical treatment, ailments such as malaria, typhoid, pneumonia and tetanus continue to take lives. It is a saddening truth that these conditions are quite treatable with modern medicine, though many continue to die due to improper healthcare. If you are a medically qualified profession, you are invited to share your highly-sought expertise in an area of the world in need of basic medical care. Get involved and assist in basic maternal health, minor surgery and lab work in Kenya. In this area of the world, the HIV and AIDS epidemic has affected approximately 1.25 million adults 100,000 children. This devastated population has seen children left with no parents and in need of caring motivated and determined individuals. You can do your part to get involved by educating through awareness to decrease the spread of this epidemic.

Spend some time with the Maasailand people to learn the traditional ways of African culture. This unique opportunity allows you a fantastic opportunity for cultural exchange. The Maasailand continue to live outside mainstream Africa, and now struggle to find medical professionals and teachers. Experience the live of traditional African Maasailand people or spend your time traveling the sights of such an amazing country of adventure. Kenya is full of magnificent wildlife parks, beautiful beaches with coral reefs, ancient Swahili cities and beautiful mountain scapes. There is so much to do amongst this vibrant culture, so explore on a safari, surf the beach or visit a baby elephant orphanage!

Set out with a mission to touch the lives of many in the amazing country of Kenya!
