Travel tips – Prague, Czech Republic

03/01/2013 by Ann Oslo

Capital of Czech Republic and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, city of Prague offers multiple fun opportunities. I had a privilege and opportunity to spend some time in this amazingly looking city and to experience all sides of its opportunities. Including shopping and pricing, of course.

Charles Bridge over river of Vltava is one of the most important monuments in the city. Standing on it and watching beautiful scenery in front of my eyes, I realized that this city provides me almost everything I’m searching in the city in which I can see myself living in some future ahead. Art crafts, painters, musicians, love in the air completes a feeling of full satisfaction.

Squares are the spots to be in Prague, and not just because of its amazing looks, but also because of all the bars, pubs, caffes, stores in any direction you want to go.

First thing you need to try in the city is very famous Czech beer in their pubs. Domestic beers costs around 1.40 euros and lunch for one person – around 5.

Prices, of course, are different from place to place, and the easiest way to travel around city is by subway. One day ticket costs a bit more than 4 euros, 3 days pass – around 12, and if you’re lucky to stay whole month – around 22 euros.

Hostels are, like in every other destination, cheapest accommodation – and can be found at the prices of 10 euros per night, but if you’re more for classy choice – then 4 star hotels with double bed  rooms costs around 120 per night.

Czech currency is “koruna” (CZK) – exchange rate – 1 EUR – around 25 CZK, 1 GBP 31.5, 1 USD around 20.

Bars and pubs have different themes, so it’s easily to find French caffes, traditional bars, Irish or English, American, Cuban theme pubs.

City has a lot of shopping malls for all who wants (and we all want, of course 🙂 shop something in this amazing city. “Pařížská” is the most important shopping, luxurious street with boutique shops of designer brands.

Beside Charles Bridge, you definitely need to see Old Town, New Town, fairytale City Castle, National Theater. Vltava cruises offers you a unique way to have dinner, while exploring city from the other point of view, with, for example, live jazz band playing for all cruise visitors.

Hope that this travel tips will help you  in revealing and exploring this amazing city. Prague – most exciting city in Central Europe.
