Great Shows to Catch During Your Trip: 2013

Are you going to spend some time traveling around the United States this year? One way to really make your trip exciting is to stop in at some of the best theatre performances that you can find. There are some great shows that are going to be playing in various cities, so you may even want to plan your trip around the ones that you want to see the most.

A theatre performance is the perfect type of entertainment because it is exciting, enjoyable, and a good way to immerse yourself in high art. Below are some shows to consider.

Wicked

Without a doubt, Wicked is one of the best shows ever created. It will be playing in San Francisco until February 17th at the SHN Orpheum Theatre. This show tells the story of the witches of Oz, drawing on inspiration from the classical hit “The Wizard of Oz”. However, the show is so good because it tells its own story in its own way, giving the cast a chance to really showcase their talents.

Les Miserables

This stunning portrayal of the French Revolution has been popular in the theatre for years, but the recent release of a movie version has caused it to be in higher demand than ever. In order to meet this demand, the show will be back in Denver, Colorado, for a week. It will play at the Buell Theatre from May 22, 2013 to May 26, 2013. This show is terrific in every aspect, from the incredible story to the brilliant sets to the songs that you will be singing long after you leave the theatre.

God of Carnage

If you are going to be spending some time in Nantucket hotels on your way through, you should certainly get out of the room, swing by the Dreamland Film and Performing Arts Center, and see God of Carnage. This play won a Tony when it first came out, and it explores many themes of modern life, including the way that children and adults can sometimes fight with each other in exactly the same fashion, despite their very different surroundings. The show will run from 01/31/13 To 02/02/13. Nantucket hotels can be very nice, but this show is the perfect way to get out and see the town as well.

The Lion King

If you thought the movie was good, just wait until you see the play. It is one of the most ambitious and impressive plays of all time, and it has been on Broadway for a decade and a half. You can see it this year at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City, and you will not be disappointed.

No trip is complete without the inclusion of a show at a beautiful old theatre. Regardless of where you are going to be this year, you can find shows in your area. Start looking for tickets right now to make sure that you get yours before the shows are all sold out.
