Experiencing Australia as a Solo Traveller

21/10/2016 by Ann Oslo

Travelling solo can be one of the most fulfilling, life changing and rewarding experiences. It can be daunting, but the benefits make this all worthwhile and it is something that everybody should try at some point in their life. Australia is a particularly great country to travel as a solo visitor, as this is a friendly and welcoming country which is also incredibly beautiful, diverse and fascinating.

Cultural Cities

Australia is the sixth-largest country by land mass in the entire world; this ensures that there is an incredible amount to explore. Australia boasts a handful of magnificent cities, including Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Many solo travellers flock to these areas and find jobs to pay for their trip – they then end up staying as they enjoy the lifestyle so much. This also means that it is very easy to make new friends and like-minded people when you travel Australia.

Breathtaking Nature

There is then the legendary outback and other areas to explore. In these areas, you will see Australia’s breathtaking rugged landscape, rainforests and gorgeous white sand beaches. You can also dive the Great Barrier Reef – a must for any traveller and an experience you will never forget.

Travellers Culture

It is this amazing combination of friendly, picturesque and fun cities and astonishing natural beauty that makes Australia so popular with backpackers (not to mention the fantastic climate). There is a culture of backpackers around the country, ensuring that solo travellers always make new friends and have someone to go on an adventure with.

Connecting with Family Back Home

Despite the distance, it is also very easy to connect with friends and family back home. Whilst this is easy with the internet, there is a much better way to do this. This is to send postcards, gifts and photos by post. Worldwide delivery specialists, including TNT Direct, have relationships with the best courier services – this ensures that parcels can be sent safely and for affordable prices. This can also work the other way, enabling friends and family to send letters, presents, clothes and anything else to you.

It is no surprise that so many solo travellers head to Australia and end up staying much longer than they originally planned. It is an enormous nation with an incredible amount to offer any traveller, and suitable for all ages. The major cities are bursting with culture, whilst away from these places you will see some of the world’s finest wildlife and nature. Seeing this as a solo traveller will be an eye-opening and life changing experience.
