Disney World is a magical place with fun for people of all ages. With four parks, over 28 Disney resorts, and entertainment outside the parks it can be hard to know where to begin. Here is a summary of some of the things you do not want to miss when you go to Walt Disney World.
The Theme Parks
The main attractions at Walt Disney World are of course the theme parks; Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. The key to navigating the parks is to know the themes of each one. Magic Kingdom is the original park and the theme is magical. In this park, you are reconnected with the classic Disney stories such as Peter Pan, Cinderella, Snow White and of course, Mickey Mouse. One of the best ways to avoid the crowds in Magic Kingdom during October and the Christmas season is to attend a party. There are two, the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Because it requires a special ticket, people are only allowed in for certain times which means fewer crowds. What better way to spend the holidays then at Magic Kingdom?
Epcot has more of an international and scientific theme. You can travel around the world by visiting eleven different “countries” or explore new scientific discoveries in activity labs. A tip for adults, try one alcoholic drink in each country you visit for a game of “drinking around the world”. Besides sampling beverages from different countries, you will also feel the “magic”. Hollywood Studios has more of an emphasis on big production movies with some highlights being the Star Tours ride, the Indiana Jones show, and Fantasmic. The lights and sounds are sure to wow everyone in your family. Finally, Animal Kingdom combines nature into an action packed theme park. Take a ride on Expedition Everest or take a safari all in one place.
Non-Park Entertainment
Need a day off from the parks? Cirque du Soleil-La Nouba and House of Blues offers nightly entertainment. Or try miniature golf at two different locations; Fantasia Garden and Fairways and the Winter Summerland. Take a walk on the Disney boardwalk or look for famous sports players at the ESPN World of Sports.
Disney Springs
Missed out on buying a souvenir? Do not worry, Disney Springs has all the shopping you need. Children and the young of heart will be wowed by the Lego Store, Once Upon a Toy, and the Build-A-Dino workshop. For those wanting something shinier, go to the Art of Disney and Something Silver. There are shops for all ages and each person on your list. When you need a break grab some chocolate at Ghirardelli or ice cream at Haagen-Dazs.
So there you have it, a highlight of some of the things that Disney has to offer. The true magic of Disney waits for you. So buy your Walt Disney World tickets online and go to the happiest place on earth.
