Esperance, WA. The bright blue waters and white sandy beaches of Esperance will leave you wanting for more. The sand is virtually whiter than any white sound in the world. No kidding. You’ll also have a scenic drive of about 40kms near the coastline that’s absolutely magnificent. You should stop along the way to behold the view or swim in one of the many beach spots. The campervan is the perfect way to go because accommodation is very tricky here. There are a couple of great-looking national park overnight parking spots available here that’s well worth a night or two.
The Red Centre, North Territory. A perfect, once-in-a-lifetime destination, especially for those visiting Australia for the first time. Since Australia is really far from basically everywhere else in the world (that’s why it’s called the Down Under), it’s safe to assume you won’t be coming back. This place is so peculiar than other places that you’ll soon be lost in its unique beauty. The red centre is virtually like that – RED. And dry. And dusty. It doesn’t have the humidity of the coastline, so ensure that your campervan has a very cool air-conditioning system. Take yourself around the Alice Springs and the Uluru region. It takes about 5 days to do everything here.
Tropical North Queensland. You have lots of options up here. Start in Cairns, then after giving the Great Tropical Drive a visit. It will take 12 days for you to travel around 2000km between Cairns and Townsville, and you’ll go through some national icons such as the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation, and even The Great Barrier Reef. You can also drive to Snapper Rocks for a surfing escapade. It’s a spectacular trip, that’s for sure.
The Great Ocean Road. If you haven’t tried it yet, then do. Everybody does it simply because it’s awesome. There are a couple of little towns along the coastline here and having a campervan lets you stop by and check them out as you please. You can conquer this road in 5 days, but if you’re not in the rush, then stretch it out. This road is a surprising combination of coastline, nature, and wildlife.
Tasmania. A favourite among travellers. The lovely little Tassie is so neat and compact, and you can get around this destination in about 10 days and discover something mind-blowing each and every day. Hobart is a good place to start in. And don’t miss Cradle Mountain and St. Helens. Both of which are incredible spots on the itinerary.
There you go. Now that you know a couple of amazing campervan destinations in Australia, it’s time to pack up and go. Don’t forget to check out DriveNow camper van to see affordable rentals and reserve your ride. Have fun!
